Saint Bieber?

Justin Bieber appears to be a bit of an evangelical. Wonder how his fan-base perceives that.

I can't figure out if his fame will be short lived or if he'll end up to be the next Michael Jackson.

Just when you thought he couldn't get any worse...

I kind of feel sorry for the kid. These days, someone like that is going to be a big target for hate. At the age of fourteen, I wouldn't have been able to handle that kind of vitriol. All I see is some scared kid being told by sycophantic (and money obsessed) adults he's living the dream when in fact, he's being robbed of his childhood.

The simple things ordinary people take for granted are the sorts of things super rich, super famous people would happily give up their money for. Anonymity, community and genuine friendship, to name a few. Obviously, many famous people are able to get round that BS and have a nice life but these are usually people who had a normal existence until they were adults. Someone like Beiber doesn't stand a chance.

It is not a normal existence for a child. You only have to look at the stats for previous child stars to see how many go off the rails.
QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.

I had never heard of this kid until I saw him appear on SNL last year. His music is the same teeny bopper bullshit that scores of 9-13 year old chicks really like. The media tries to portray him as a role model for boys, but I'm not so sure. The same type of musical/public acts as other male teen stars have really only turned out well for one person (so far) and that's Timberlake. He actually has some talent other than his feminine voice though.

Unfortunately, history says this young [cough cough] man will not have such a bright future. Unfortunately, 9-13 year old girls grow up, and the younger generation that replaces them won't really be in to an older Bieber, and his star will fade, until he ends up hosting some reality show on the E! network.

I don't know, maybe I'm just cynical. But I think even he knows it, which is why he has already released his autobiography. More power to you, might as well milk it while you can.

So, what do you say HAF? Do you have 'Bieber fever'?

I honestly dislike J-Bieb's music both as a poet, composer and listener.

However, if he likes his life, including all the media whoring he gets to do, than good for him, I say.

His fame seems to be connected only with the young teens....he should enjoy it while it lasts.

I didn't even recognize him when he was on TV the other day; just know his name from people making jokes or complaining about their teen's obsession.

+1.

... but seriously... with that haircut?  How could he *not* be a Christian?
(just sayin')

You make an excellent point. I never assumed he wasn't a Christian.

To think about it I've never listened to an adult say that they enjoy Justin's music...  But people do like to make jokes about him.

I find it hilarious that the 'Amazing' Atheist wasted time researching Bieber so he could produce videos on him.  I vote boy crush...which is kinda creepy considering AA has to be nearing 40 (ok....maybe he has a child who is crushing on bieber and that sparked him thinking about it).

Lol. He's like, twenty-five. If he had a child, I would wonder why the Child Protection Services hadn't taken him away already.

He makes videos on Justin Bieber because people like that kind of shit. People like to see fat men rage on the little pop culture icon that everybody loves to hate.

Asmodean

Does he SCREW the troll at the end of that last one?!   Twisted...
